Preservation Week

April 22 – 28, 2012

The memories and treasures of individuals, families, and communities are essential to our understanding of history and its participants just as collections in libraries, museums, and archives contribute to the legal and cultural history of our country.  Recognizing the need to preserve this history, the American Library Association inaugurated Preservation Week in 2010, along with national partners that include the Library of Congress and the Society of American Archivists.

Salt Lake County Archives is participating in Preservation Week by highlighting a number of resources that can assist the household archivist with the preservation of family treasures.  Check out our website for tips on preserving photographs, paper, books, textiles, and more.
